Products

- MLCC (Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitor)

: A part needed for electronics components that allows current to flow, essentially playing the role of a dam. It is a versatile component that goes into almost all electronics, with smartphones having about 800 inside and LED TVs having about 2,000 inside. With electronics becoming ever smaller, the global trend has been to develop small MLCCs with large capacities; Samsung Electro-Mechanics is currently producing an ultra small 0402 (0.4mm x 0.2mm) MLCC that is about as thin as a human hair. As the MLCC market improves, average unit costs have trended upward. As such, the performance of the Component Sales Division of Samsung Electro-Mechanics is expected to improve even further.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics enhances the value of their smartphone camera modules by providing high resolutions, ultra small form factors, auto focus, auto stabilization, and high quality actuators/lenses. As they have recently begun supplying the dual camera module for the Galaxy Note 8, the company's camera module business is expected to grow rapidly.

- Rigid-Flex PCB

As a substrates that combines a flexible printed circuit board with a rigid PCB, it combines each of their strengths, flexibility and reliable surface mounting, in one integrated PCB. They are suited for miniaturization as connectors between modules are not needed, and design freedom can also be enhanced by maximizing SET space availability. They are mainly used for IT devices that need to be thin and flexible, along with camera modules and the like.
