History of the Company

Founded on 2007, the then Orlando-based company released its first product, the KonyOne Platform in 2009. In 2012 Kony acquired Australian SAP consulting company Sky Technologies. Thomas E. Hogan was named CEO in February 2014. In May 2014, Kony announced its latest round of funding, $50 million. Investors in the company include Softbank Capital, Hamilton Lane, Insight Venture Partners, Georgian Partners, Delta-v Capital, and Telstra Ventures. In June 2015, Kony moved its corporate headquarters from Orlando, FL, to Austin, TX.

Kony Mobility Platform The Kony Mobility Platform is an open and standards-based, integrated platform for mobile app development, and is powered by the Kony Nitro(TM) Engine . Kony Visualizer Kony Visualizer is the front end of Kony's multi-channel JS API framework . It is a What You See Is What You Mobilize (WYSIWYM) platform that enables designers and developers to collaborate on mobile application development projects. In March 2016, Kony released Visualizer 7.0, and began offering two versions of Visualizer--Starter Edition and Enterprise Edition. In November 2016, Kony Visualizer was made available on the Amazon Web Services Marketplace .

Kony MobileFabric Kony MobileFabric was launched in August 2014, and is a Mobile Backend as a Service (MBaaS) solution, allowing app developers to fully integrate applications to back-end cloud storage and APIs. Kony MobileFabric 7.0 was released in July 2016, and introduced Object Services to the solution. In August 2016 MobileFabric was made available on the Amazon Web Services Marketplace .

Kony Retail Banking App In September 2015 Kony introduced the Kony Retail Banking app, which is a managed services solution that enables midsized banks and credit unions to implement new, fully functional, and personalized mobile apps .

Kony Field Service App Kony's Field Services app solution was launched in December 2015 . It is SAP certified . In June 2016, Kony and Engie, the world's top independent power producer and energy services provider, announced that Engie will be using Kony's platform to create a digital factory as a part of its effort to improve field service communications.

Kony Nitro(TM) Kony Nitro is the engine inside of the Kony Mobility Platform, and was launched in November 2016 . Kony Nitro allows mobile apps developers to mix native, web, and hybrid approaches in a single application. It allows maximum flexibility--including hybrid import to easily import components into the platform. Kony Nitro offers enhanced levels of security, accelerated development of rich native applications (through low-code visualization), and consistent experiences across channels.

Platforms Supported The Kony Mobility Platform currently supports development for Apple iOS, Apple Watch, Google Android, Microsoft Windows Phone, and Blackberry.
